Portobello Pavilion: "Brilliant School"
We collaborated with artists in North Kensington, London, to programme five days of free art workshops, performances, discussions and events loosely themed around the idea of “re-designing the hostile environment”. The programme featured an on-site screening of “Performance” attended by producer David Cammel, a showing of recently digitised 1973 Notting Hill Carnival footage in an evening hosted by one of carnival’s founders Leslie Palmer and performances from youth and intergenerational companies around stop-and-search laws, deportation and how to stand up to victimisation.
