Artist

My work deals with language; society; conflict and masculinity. I make auto-ethnographic work that is situated between the Scottish Highlands where my ancestors fled poverty in the late 19th century and the Flemish Lowlands where I attempted to flee from English exceptionalism in the early 21st. Following research at Fontys Hogschool voor de Kunsten, Tilburg and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee I have settled on my practice as a performance and video artist working Scots Gaelic to discover my subaltern self through the lens of the Highland Military Imaginary.
