My current work deals with language; society; conflict and masculinity. I make auto-ethnographic work that is situated between: The Scottish Highlands where my ancestors fled poverty in the late 19th century; England's Military-Pastoral Complex in the heartlands of Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire where I enjoyed a privileged upbringing as a military child; the Flemish Lowlands where I attempted to flee from English exceptionalism in the early 21st. After a period of artistic research at Fontys Hogschool voor de Kunsten, Tilburg and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee my practices' current focus is on performance and video. I work primarily in Scots Gaelic, exploring the Highland Military Imaginary.
